Epson printer ink cartridges

The most important thing to do before you buy an inkjet printer is to check the price of the ink cartridges it uses. It is a common trick of printer manufacturers to sell printers at low prices in order to get them into your home and then make a high profit on the replacement ink cartridges for it. The worst culprits of this are Lexmark and HP who sell entry level printers at a lower price than a set of ink cartridges. Epson are not as bad in terms of the way the price their printers however Epson ink cartridges are one of the most expensive. Thing good thing about Epson printer ink cartridges is that they are simply ink tanks and copies can be manufactured by third party companies at a low cost and therefore offer to the consumer at a much lower price. These products are common known as “compatible ink cartridges”. Compatible ink cartridges are available for most Epson printers and offer great print results and every greater saving. A set of Epson R285 ink cartridges in compatible form cost on average 75% cheaper then the genuine Epson inks. Some people claim that (including Epson themselves) that using compatible ink cartridges in your printer will clog the print head in the printer, but this is just simply not true. Print heads to clog sometimes but there have been just as many cases of the clogging in printers that have only been used with genuine inks as there have been with ones using compatibles.
